Jimi Hendrix Had The ‘Most Electrifying Moment’ At Woodstock

On Aug. 18, 1969, former soldier Jimi Hendrix, resplendent in bright red headband, white fringed shirt and bell-bottom blue jeans, unfurled what has been called the cultural moment of the 1960s when he played an incendiary instrumental version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” for remnants of the crowd at the Woodstock Music & Art Fair in Bethel, N.Y.

Jimi Hendrix Park Foundation Receives 4Culture Grant

The Jimi Hendrix Park Foundation has been awarded a $75,000 grant through 4Culture’s Cultural Facilities Program to be used for the ongoing construction work at Jimi Hendrix Park.

This highly competitive grant process saw two expert peer panels reviewing more than $15 million in funding requests from fellow non-profit organizations throughout King County.

Remembering D.A. Pennebaker

The Hendrix family companies, Experience Hendrix and Authentic Hendrix are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of D.A. Pennebaker, the creative and innovative documentary filmmaker who pioneered a new style of music film production. From his debut shortfilm DAYBREAK EXPRESS (1953), to the hit Bob Dylan film, DON’T LOOK BACK (1967) or to his introspective David Bowie film ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS (1973), his films were both critically acclaimed and universally celebrated by music fans.
