The evening’s highlight came when Jimi recorded an extended, untitled jam session playing an electric sitar, an instrument given to him by its inventor, Vinnie Bell.

This new rendition showcased a more sophisticated arrangement than that of the November 1966 recording which had served as the b-side for “Hey Joe”.
