Seattle’s MOPOP to Host 82nd Birthday Celebration for Jimi Hendrix on Saturday, November 23
Join us at MOPOP to celebrate the 82nd birthday of Seattle’s own beloved rock superstar, Jimi Hendrix with a full day of activities on November 23 with Hendrix: Bold As Love Birthday Bash.
The immersive lineup includes a screening of the new documentary Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision; a conversation with Jimi’s sister Janie Hendrix; “Shred like Jimi” photo ops, and hands-on music and art throughout the museum.
Jimi Hendrix has been a core inspiration to MOPOP since day one, right down to the design of our iconic building, and Birthday Bash attendees can learn even more about him in our long-term exhibition Wild Blue Angel: Hendrix Abroad 1966-1970 exploring his years on the road as he catapulted to fame.
2024 would have marked Hendrix’s 82nd birthday, and his influence on music and pop culture is still bold as love and stronger than ever.
