The eighth edition of the Experience Hendrix Tour will launch in March 2014. The month-long tour, which is presented by BandFuse: Rock Legends, will bring together a diverse group of artists paying homage to the genius of Jimi Hendrix.
This year’s lineup ranges from Zakk Wylde to Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Dweezil Zappa, Los Lobos’ stalwarts Cesar Rosas and David Hidalgo, left-handed blues rocker Eric Gales, Texas guitar gods Doyle Bramhall II and Eric Johnson, Bootsy Collins, Mato Nanji and, from Serbia by way of Memphis, Ana Popovic.

Experience Hendrix LLC, in partnership with Talenthouse, has announced the Jimi Hendrix Guitar Competition, a celebration of the music and heritage of the greatest guitarist of all time.
On Tuesday night, PBS aired the American Masters broadcast of the two-hour documentary Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’. Rolling Stone called the documentary, now available as an expanded Blu-ray/DVD release, “a thorough, serious-minded consideration of his career.”
Tune in tonight to watch Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’ on PBS American Masters at 9 p.m. EST (check your local listings). The documentary is also available today on Blu-ray/DVD, with an exclusive 13 previously unreleased performances that are not included in the PBS broadcast.

Oct 25 2013Jimi Hendrix was one of the first artists to build his own recording studio. Electric Lady Studios, his state-of-the-art recording facility in Greenwich Village in New York City, was designed entirely to suit Hendrix, both in its technology and atmosphere.
In two outtakes from Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’, Eddie Kramer, Hendrix’s longtime sound engineer, and John Storyk, architect and acoustic designer for Electric Lady Studios, reveal the history of how the legendary studio at 52 West 8th Street came into being.
